Manifesto
Hello everyone, God’sgift here and I am running for year 1 academic rep. You might not know me yet but I aim to know you all by names soon hopefully (all 119 of you)
If I was to be elected as the academic rep, I plan to
•bridge the gap between academia and wellbeing because Locked in doesn’t mean burnt out
•Work closely with student and staff to improve the delivery of lectures making it more accessible to a range of abilities and learning styles.
•Attempt to implement a study group structure to ensure that everyone gets a chance to learn in a more relaxed setting.
•Ensure the representation of EVERYONE not just those brave enough to speakPAST EXPERIENCE
I was a major part of the event committee in a charity established at my sixth form. During this i directed the creation of events that helped fundraise for children in impoverished communities. This puts me in a great position to help plan enriching academic events for the year. In the past I have been part of the prefects and executive committee in both secondary and sixth form, meaning that I am well-versed when it comes to representing and managing my peers.I am a learning videographer (once I get davinci to work properly). I love watching and reviewing movies and shows when I’m not busy figuring out vectors. This exposure to media will increase my effectiveness as an academic rep by improving how I gather feedback, communicate with staff and my peers. I pride myself in being able to relate with a wide range of people and this is particularly useful as I believe in representing the cohort rather than a minority and I intend to this by being involved with multiple groups across our cohort. This way we can all make changes that really do mean something.I hope we can work together to create an inclusive academic environment where knowledge is gained and strengthened by all,
Ggs
